My name is Lisea Bourns. I'm 19 years old and quite a spirited young lady. I love my family to pieces and they encourage me everyday to chase my dream!
My grandpa was a chef for many years. During my childhood I had the privilege of watching him cook family meals and also helping him cook. That's when I fell in love with cooking.
My sophomore year I was given the opportunity to tour the Clark County Skills Center and decided to sign up for the Restaurant Management program.
My junior Year it all started. I was finally going to be able to start chasing my dream. Senior year, I came back as a second year student and was able to take more of a management roll.
I took a year off to find a job and save some money but under unfortunate circumstances I wasn't able to save all that much.
When the year was done, I started talking to my parents and my boyfriend about going back to school. We all talked for about 2 months or so, looking at what options would be available to me.
I chose to come to The Oregon Culinary Institute. And that's where I am now. Chasing my culinary dream!
